Maybe try to instal from another clean release (warez + crack) and try to launch it without installing BF2 HUB or revive clients. You will see if it is a problem teh game or the installation process.

I have an original BF2 dvd but it doesnt work cos it tries to connect to EA servers

first delete everything that is related to bf2 from your PC
now u have the original 1.0 Battlefield?...
install it if u do....download the 1.41 pathch and 1.5 patch....

this is not a problem with the your grafic resolution (the game starts and crash down if the grafic is not supported...black screen and crash)
in this case i thnk the game is missing some files when u install it  and that why it wont start...

first you need to register your cd key at by opening www.bf2hub.com and then register your cd key ,if you want to retrieve your old account which have ranks the important is you remember all the data including password and email. yes mate you need to delete all files ..which you played last and then install your new bf2 through bf2 dvd with original disc and important is if you want to remember or play what NICK you used you must remember all you information for what you used so you can retrieve all you IPname..this is the important if you have v1.4 and 1.5 dont delete you can extract that once if you install the original disc..the best here is your cd key was been safe.

Your IP has nothing to do with the problem.
Have you tried my sugestion onto deleting the video settings file?

Hello !

I was using BF2 by the install file I got from battlelog so basically it was the file I downloaded from the link you showed. I guess I am gonna get BF2 hub to try.

that 2 server or hub are different so if you played battle log,you must delete the files of bf2  battle log so you can install bf2 hub and  if you played bf2 hub you must delete all the files of bf2 hub and install battle log. so they can run...For me i used bf2 hub and every time i reformat my pc i have a v1.4 and 1.5 and the important things is i remember all my data .so i can retrieve my account and i still running through..good luck mate and we miss you all..we see you on the game..

I did and it did not work, I will try to install BF2 from original DVD then try battlehub. If it doesn't work again then I'll say "F*** it I am not playing this game anymore till I format my hard drive again"

delete all bf2 folders , ALLS
empty the trash and restarts
reinstall bf2 1.0 and after patch 1.41 and  1.5
restart when finish
create account in bf2 hub , working all the time  lol
restart again
for hub
and welcome back in game
