Heli is easier with keyboard and mouse but for flying a jet a joystick is much better,although if you decide to buy one make sure it's one with a twist grip (3rd axis) for the tail rudder.
I can recomend the T16000M from thrustmaster, it works with magnets and is a LOT more accurate than other sticks of the same price class (under €50)
I had a "T Flight hotas X" for a couple of days before i took it back to the shop in disgust, it would be okay for flight sim games i suppose but definately not for dogfights.

When it was "Air aces" it was unique, one of a kind and though the number of players per side was rarely over 10, it was populated most of the time. Now its just the same as all the other servers and empty all day (well at least every time i look) Please consider changing it back to the way it was ( with a few more air maps in the rotation  ) Yours beseechingly

Hey there again. Just a quick word on the server that used to be great and used to be called "Air aces" Map vote has been enabled again which is good, yesterday i tried to make a map vote with 3 people on each side which is over average for this server and got the message that there were too few players to make a map vote .  Can this setting be changed ?

Good day,
My ingame name: McSlaine
My public ip when i was playing: 95.90.187.4.
The game i played: Battlefield 2
The server i played on: BF2:*NRNS*AIR-ACES
The date i was banned: 30.07.2016, around 20.30
Reason i was banned/kicked: Swearing
Comment on this matter: Server is now called "NRNS map vote"
I got banned because the notorious teamkiller "madhatter" has still not been banned from NRNS even thoughh he has his own complaints thread in the NRNS forum.
He was crashing planes into his own team again, and i got so mad i called him "Mad wanker" a couple of times.
It wasn't something that didn't need to be done.
Anyhow, i got banned and the teamkiller is still there.
Please unban me

Hey again, Please please PLEASE change the server back to the way it was.  OR if you really want to keep the inf maps, maybe making the non air maps 16s so we're not running round the map trying to find each other ?

Hey peeps, I see you've deleted my posts, yeah, sooory about that, i didn't stop to think that naked females might be offensive to some people. I got carried away and i wont do it again, promise. BUT ANYHOW, still zero players almost all day on the server that used to be great and used to be called Air Aces. I would try to describe how sad that makes me, but those sort of expletives would probably get deleted too. Big sad face I mean really, at most there's four or five a side, mostly two or three, and then with maps like songhua ...........................waste of time. Map vote has been turned off again on the server so players can't get rid of an unsuited map, which because there is no time limit set, goes on FOR BLOODY EVER with only a handfull of players.  I hope the way the server is now is not the end of the story . McSlaine

Hey again, First i want to say, i play on nrns servers a lot and since a couple of months i've been playing solely on your air aces server (before it sadly disapeared) and apart from Daze i have never seen any of the other names who have been voicing opinions about best airmaps.
Maybe they're on night shift.
Second it is my humble opinion that since city maps and air maps are already catered for, making a third server with mixed maps wont increase the number of players, just spread them out
A server with everything tweakable tweaked to the max would be fun. 
But whatever you decide to do, i'd like to once again plug my favorite airmap - Zatar wetlands, because in the words of Martha and the Vandellas, there is NOWHERE TO RUN TO; NOWHERE TO HIDE.
Should you decide to bring back the air aces server,
My favorite air maps are :-
Zatar wetlands
Gulf of Oman
Op clean sweep
Kubra dam
Taraba quarry
Daqing oilfields
Op midnight sun
Wake island

Hey there, I spend a lot of time on the "air aces" server and think it's great (big thumbs up ) BUT there is one thing missing - my favorite flying map - Zatar wetlands which also is very good for rounds with fewer players because everybody who is not flying is not running around the edge of the map but fighting over the "central island" flag which makes for a better game.
So i humbly beg you to please include this map in the "air aces" map rotation and make an old man very happy
Have you decreased the damage on the SRAW ? it's no fun anymore, if possible please put it back to max
