Pressing Start+Printscreen only gives me a black pic

f12 by default if I remember right, you can check it in your key mapping in game options

F12 is cod4's own screenshot mechanism.
If that doesn't work, you could have a recording software like fraps open and use its screenshot mechanism.
Or you could add cod4 to steam and use steam's F12 screenshot mechanism.

And your screenshots are saved in CoD4 folder,
this is my flolder path
C:\Program Files\cod4 on 192.168.1.149\main\screenshots

just type /screenshot <Give the name is you want>

This screenshot will be saved in main folder i guess  or maybe in demo hierarchy folder ...something like that

just download fraps And u can take screenshots and capture videos with it !
