Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 / Servers outdated?
« on: June 18, 2017, 20:33:33 PM »
Could it be that our servers are not running the latest version? Or is something else set up incorrectly?

I cannot find them via ingame server browser but can connect via IP. Additionally, they are not shown in the favourites list after adding them. When I try it again, it says "server is already in the favourite list".

Technical Support - Games / Re: weird lag

It sounds like a problem with directX to me. Have you tried installing the latest drivers for it?
Also it looks strange that your CPU is not recognized in the  dxDiag. Have you installed the correct drivers for the CPU as well?

how many play rust here  ?  is it worth to carry on with if this if theres update all the time  seems to be a pain .  cant lag  the other games or the box
I noticed our server can handle the updates far better than most of the others running a Rust server. The box didn't time out, CPU usage was only around 90% for ~5 minutes.
The question if it is worth to carry on with Rust because of the regular updates is still there though. On a side note, the majority of the Rust community tries to avoid playing against clans and therefore are hard to bring into a server run by a clan. Even if we are the friendliest community and have the best admins, most of the other players will stay away from our server simply because they don't trust a clan running a server in Rust. This is why I brought up the idea to spread the NRNS name together on other servers.

PS: Our server is updated now again!

That would be the best option if everything else doesn't work.
Because of the weekly updates, it can be planned well for Thursday night e.g.
The problem is I don't have time to do this every week, so we should really work on running the updates automatically, this would help a lot.
I hope Tony can help with this!

PS: I just managed to find a gap and run the update, so you can play until the next one is released this evening :P

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid someone else has to run the update then. I can't find a time where I would not disturb someone playing Wurm which I am not allowed to do.

There is a little problem with the latest update. Running it will make the server box not respond for about 15 minutes. Therefore I have been waiting for a moment when no one is playing on the us box which has not been happening yet :/

we have needed a server update for some time guys, I wont join another server so have been unable to pay this game after all we have done after the last update, is it wipe time again already? I hope they stop all this updating soon, thank you in advance.
The server has been updated again now.
As you see it is a pain to do it manually every week and as long as we can't get this done automatically with a script it will be like this.
Facepunch will keep releasing new updates weekly and doing the wipe once a month, this will certainly not change.

However, they had some big problems with their big patch this week so the wipe was delayed. But I don't know if it will happen next week or on May, 4th.

In other words... it's easier to play somewhere else than try to populate and bring friends to our servers... just my 2 cents !
No! What have we been doing the last months? We were playing on our server, populated it, tried to get others to play there as well. And now check what we reached: only three new players were there for a short time but then left. Also our members lost interest in playing there so the server is empty most of the time. And I'm sure you can understand playing lonely on an empty server gets boring after a while so I can't accuse anyone of anything.

What I'm trying to do is encourage the members interest in the game again. To have something to do as a group and to strengthen the unity among us. By showing all this at a place where other players are around, we might get their interest too and maybe find some new players this way.

What do you think of this one?
https://rust-servers.net/server/64534/
It is vanilla, decay is enabled and the server is doing only forced wipes by facepunch which means once every month. The population is also quite decent if you check the statistics.

When do we start?? :)

Today?

I suggest we try to find a good server first and then start all together after the next wipe on the 6th of april.
We should agree whether we want a vanilla or modded server for example. If modded, then what kind of plugins? (Teleportation, Multiplier [2x, 3x, ??], etc.) Also the ping should be okay for everyone.

It is two weeks until the wipe, so why not use this time to find a good server?

Well your absolutely right about the things you mentioned above . Now I would like to say something to those who play rust more likely an advice for em. Rust is all about killing /raiding / re-building. Without these things you won't have too much fun in this game. And yes server is mostly empty most of us do play it but I guess some of us own crap pcs maybe that's why we aren't playing it or we're just busy with real life stuff. We gotta work on getting people on our server. The way we all play I don't think we're gonna have too much fun in other servers where you go against clans of 30-40 people and that's massive manpower as compared to us. And we all don't play rust regularly that's the biggest issue with that we can't survive in any server. And the worst part, we all have this issue that whenever we get raided or killed we get pisssed then we will leave the game until next wipe so that's not gonna help anywhere.  So I would say , keep this server up for couple of months and try to get people on by advertising! If that doesn't work I guess it would be a good move to remove it .
You are right, we are not active enough to compete with a clan of 30-40 people. But there are many servers out there and I'm sure there are some fitting our demands.
Regarding the point of getting raided: In my opinion it is a huge difference if for example my base is raided by you and I know I won't get the same amount of stuff till the next wipe again. Then I will probably not play that often as before until the next wipe. But if we all get raided by someone we don't know, we all can work on getting the stuff back which is more likely than everyone of us on his own.

Dropping a server is never something I would like to do. But honestly, I don't really know how to get a solid playerbase to our server. There are not many people playing and therefore it is not interesting for new ones.
We can say we try to be more active and recruit more, but I honestly doubt that will change anything right now.
