After gamespy shutdown (june 2014) , guys of battlelog are providing "another way" to play our beloved bf2 (god bless them)...
At the begining we need to install the game , patch 1.41 , patch 1.5 , battlelog launcher (also known as revive launcher), replace the file called "bf2_w32ded" ...and cross your fingers . If you are using this way and works fine , just forget this post.

If oldschool installation doesnt work or you have problems there is an EASIER WAY TO PLAY BF2 , read this post .
Since couple of months you have available at battlelog.co the "release " of bf2 , i recommend you and the rest of bf2 players install this version because is so easy as download the file and installing it (launcher, patches , files to replace,UPDATE PUNKBUSTER... are included on the same installation ) . On this version many bugs has been fixed .
So first , i would uninstall game completely , remember to delete "battlefield 2" folder (inside my documents folder) .Then you have to register and logged in at battlelog site , only then you will be able to download the file you need .
If you already registered and logged in follow this steps .
Go here :
1. http://battlelog.co/downloads.php
(YOU HAVE TO BE LOGGED IN TO BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD)
2. Download the first file on the list , is called "Revive BF2 Full F2P"
3. Install it and start to play .
4. If you have any problem before post in forum , CHECK YOUR FIREWALL (bf2 or anything related with bf2 should be allowed on your firewall) and RUN THE GAME AS ADMINISTRATOR (right button of mouse over shortcut of game and "run as administrator")
If you still have problems or you cant be helped here on that moment ... GOOD NEWS ... there is an awesome forum on the same site where you downloaded the game , they are who knows better the bf2 problems and the way to solve them , take a look ;)

bf2hub does nothing to enforce the bf2 comunity ( they just offering a launcher )... From my personal view having forum where bf2 players are able to share gameplays , ask for game fixes , improvements ,doubts ,technical problems , mods and a big BIG ETC .... as battlelog.co does is what is keeping the bf2 playerbase alive nowadays .
May you guys are advanced pc users ... but from my experience there is an high percentage of players who are not , things not always works at first attempt , there are graphics issues , conflicts with a previous installation , corrupted patches and many other reasons because game could not work .
This post is done thinking to provide them a UNIQUE PLACE to :
-Create account or recover old one .
-Download EVERYTHING they need easy and safely .
-Research how to fix their problems by themselfs instead of calling me ...or calling you
-They can look for old players who used to play with them
-Recover stats of official EA ranking
Also most of our players are using battlelog launcher who or has seen us on Most populated NOT RANKED server banner on their site .....
So please if you wanna suggest people to use a a different launcher , make yourself responsible to solve their issues , questions and POST your preferences in other place ... best way would be making another post to avoid confusions .... ( who arrives here for first time probably didnt know even it was possible to play bf2)

Have you tried the following Coste?:
Run as administrator
Add Bf2 as exception to Virus Protection
Have BF2 set as high priority?
MOst of these in the cases I've seen will fix it, but considering I don't use windows 10(don't intend to until they remove that pesky keylogger they hide in the EULA), I'm not sure if they will work in your case. Windows 10 is a rushed out OS so it's bound to be incompatible with a lot of stuff sadly. I'll do some research and get back to you Coste!

Having just looked all over I found this list of compatible/incompatible games for windows ten http://wccftech.com/windows-10-compatible-games/
And looked on battlelog for issues with W10. Some say to COMEPLETELY REINSTALL everything having to do with BF2. Have you tried that?

no nothing work for me i tryed so much and so many hours...
Now i giveup, and say that there should come are guide to w10 for bf2. or i will never play it again...

Well ...
2 questions :
1.- Have you allowed everything related with bf2 on windows firewall ???
2.- Are you running bf2 as administrator ???
1 thing to try :
1.- go to my documents folder and delete the folder called "Battlefield 2" ... just do that and try it again ... if doesnt works I will take a look ... still there are options

If you have read posts I sent before , use the tool for w10 of battlelog and the other things ... 1 thing to do :
Uninstall the game and clean registry with ccleaner and then2 options :
1-try again with release
2.-try with patched
But first wanna take a look , connect ts3 now and open teamviewer ... quickly please im at office

You sure you have DirectX9 installed? That error looks like dx9 is failing.

Hi, i downloaded the full client from battlelog but when im trying to register, a message appears:

Please explain in detail what you have done and if you post a screenshot of the problem you have it will be helpful.
Some questions:
- Have you registered at battlelog.co site?
- Which icon are you using to open game ?
- Are you log in launcher with same name and password than battlelog.co site account ?
