Hey guys,
I'm proud to announce you we have a new Rust server running!
It is an official server, therefore it is required to have the game on Steam to join the server. But in this way we are able to keep it updated to the weekly devblogs much easier.
Unfortunately the server is not showing up in the ingame server browser yet but we are working on it to be displayed there.
In the meantime you can connect to it by entering the following line into the console (press F1 to open the console):
client.connect 192.95.55.248:28015
The server is vanilla so far but we will think about adding mods in the future, hopefully when it is showing in the server browser. I will make an extra topic for that.

I really like the game and love to think back to the time when we had our NRNS tower and were all playing together. Hopefully this can be the case again soon. You definately should give it a try ;)

No at this moment but now when it is steam version i could buy it and join to play it with you guys :)

The server can update itself automatically which happened three hours prior to my post now. The problem is the Oxide mod does not update automatically or at least my script for that is not working. I'm still trying to figure out why...
I did the Oxide update manually now, so everything is working fine again.

Is auto-update possible for rust via steam?

The auto update function only worked as long as the server was unmodded. Since it is running oxide again, it has to be updated manually every week.
I couldn't get the script running to have the server AND oxide updated... Maybe Tony knows how to do it?
PS: I'm not at home for the next days and therefore can't run the update.
