BF2 freezing and freezing during log in

I've tried for about an hour now and with no avail, am having BF2 stop responding upon clicking "Log in" on the main screen.

I remember having this issue before, however I do not recall how to fix it. Any advice is great appreciated.

I have been having game start issues since the box that wants you to join teamspeak started showing up.
It places it behind the revive launcher but you do have just enough space to x it out then it works ok.
Very strange for me too.
