I played yesterday too and i'm not completly happy with the changes made according to the stamina.
It reduced a bit the fun on the gameplay for me.  :-\
Sometimes i need to hop over obstacles and everytime now i loose stamina with every hop i do.
The problem is, that it doesn't recover fast enough. It felt like i had to wait forever to be able to run again.
The basic idea is good but there should be made a difference between a normal hopping and the bunnyhoppers.

Only players which hop repeatly (more than 2 times) shouldn't be able to run directly after that.
All others shouldn't be recognized by the script, because that wouldn't count as bunnyhopping for me.
As i said sometimes i (and i think other players too) want to jump over obstacles and i don't see a reason to punish them for that by reducing the stamina, if they just hop once or two times.
Jumping over a wall doesn't always work on the first try, so you hop again. Another example, you try to get up on a high hill, so you need to hop too on some point to get up.

Thats all i wanted to say, thanks Syntexx for that!  :)

No more to say.
10/10 would rate this 10.

Im with syntexx on this, as from my perspective I play very similar to him.

i dont understand it since for the no stamina to work takes 3 jumps. so how does it affect you????  it only affects the players jumping more than 3 times one after the other in which case your bunny hopping lol.

try to climb a hill , you´ll see

i changed my mind - its annoying as F

personally agreed

Played for about 4 hours yesterday climbed alot of hills jumped over fences and so on never ran out of stamina once , I dont see the issue. gameplay was smooth as always for me, didnt even notice the difference

the rules havent been removed they are still there but its not enforced like before.
I see some issues with this:

Rule not listed in the Game Rules:
Enforced or not, if we have a rule it should be listed in the Rules list. If a rule is not in the list how are players supposed to know about the rule? The Rule list should be a comprehensive list of all rules otherwise it looses integrity/validity.

Different groups of players playing under different rulesets:
I believe this will create two groups of players: Those who *choose* to follow the rules and those who require enforcement of the rules. NRNS members are expected to follow all the rules, whether enforced or not. The players who *choose* to follow this hidden, unenforced rule will be playing under a different ruleset than players who just don't care. Maybe this wont be a problem when bunnyhopping is impossible, but currently it is still very possible.

Bunnyhopping is still possible:
Hopping removes stamina, however players can continue to hop when they have no stamina. Senario:
    • Full squad, snipers, medics.
    • Point man leads squad through city.
    • Point man is under fire.
    • Point man BunnyHopsForDayz while his squad kills the enemy from cover.
    • Hopper didn't need to shoot. Enemy still disgruntled for dying as a result of bunnyhopping.

This system punishes non-bunnyhoppers:
Regardless of the reason for your jump and regardless of how far apart your jumps are you will loose stamina when you jump. Since stamina doesn't recover while running (?) if you're running across the map jumping over obstacles, eventually you'll run out of stamina and be stuck in the "I'm so slow I may as well stand still" mode. This means players will have to run around obstacles, wait for their stamina to recharge, or take the game at a much slower pace (ie: pausing now and then to let stamina recharge) -- kind of reduces the effect of the unlimited sprint mod.

Different players have different playstyles. Some are fine playing the game at a slow pace and may never notice this stamina reduction. Others prefer to play full-out, fast paced, pedal to the metal, etc. It is this second group who will notice a slow-down in their gameplay.
I am very open to suggestion. If you see an error or room for improvement or just have a comment or query please get in touch with me via forum PM, email, or Discord.

really you blowing this out of the water.

complain there is to many hoppers we sort it then you come complain about how. right now you have less hoppers in the server which is fact. admins havent had to do anything to lower the amount of hopper.

yet still not good enough.

so please stop picking apart the way we tryed to fix it and give us other ways that does not involve admins actively enforcing it if you cant then how can you argue???

Working hard to bring the best online servers to our community

I would like you to give your voice on that matter!

If there are specific points in my posts that people disagree with I would like to know about them and fix them if possible. If my posts are just annoying due to poor timing I apologize. My style is to solve (potential) issues as they're discovered instead of waiting around for them to become (actual) issues or even problems.

I assume modmanager can't detect a 'player jump' action or player's vertical position? If so this system may very well be the best we'll get. That doesn't change the fact that it detracts from the player experience (it may compensate for that overall by removing *some* bunnyhopping but some legit players will still be negatively impacted by it and some bunnyhopping will still occur). But if this is the best possible solution then we'll have to deal with the downside of it. I believe that type communication between developer and user is typical during these sorts of feedback topics (Dev says "feature #7 changed. Feature #9 removed." User says "oh no. What happened to feature #9?" Dev says, "yeah, sry about 9. Nothing we could do about it. 789").  ::)

My first two points (which are really the same point) really have nothing to do with the system itself and more to do with the administrative/PR implementation of the system. I'm sure it's a failing with my thought process and I'll continue to think it over but I have been unable to come up with reasonable opposing points of view regarding why we would want rules, which aren't enforced, and aren't listed in the official rules list. This is why I pointed it out as if it were just an oversight, because to me, that is exactly what it appears to be.

Sorry for the brain-pain creating frivolous junk but if there's a legitimate reason to do something that ppl have 'complained' about why not just say so/give the reason instead of telling them they're complaining too much? :|

HEy
The change is because we hat many many complains about bunny hopping from members publics and so on!
In my oppinion it is a good change because it prevent the exessiv bunny  hopping! Yes you loose stamina but you dont need to jump 3 times in a row ....
if there is no possibility to go on a mauntain than you need to find another way.
Someone made the suggestion to make the time you cant shoot after a jump for a  longer time instead of loosing stamina! In my eyes that would not solve the bunny hopping problem. A player who jumpes legaly over a wall and finds hin infront of enemies but he cant shoot.......his only way to escape is to continue jumping and run! So this will not help!

So first opportunity is to hear to all that crying about bunny hoppers! Because admins cant see everything ..... they can hear a lot who is breaking rules and who is doing that ! But we need to be sure if somone is violating the rules!

second opportunity is to loose a part of your stamina by a jump which is good for me!
i could live with that
just my oppinion
