Snipers have always been part of this clan and it is not problem because they are always same point and if u have played this game 10 yeas u know were they camp. Problem is that G36C,Shotguns,AK-101,M4,F2000,M16 etc are weak and useless against P90 or L85A1

Disclaimer: I maintain my views that there are many different ways/styles to play/enjoy games. I feel that players playing for personal gratification in obtaining high kill/death ratios are perfectly legit players.

It seems like a high kill/death ratio is the only thing that matters to a lot of gamers in the current meta of FPS games. What I mean is that you 'win' the game if you have the highest k/d ratio ... regardless if your team wins the objective, conquers the map, etc. I think this is made worse by the popularity of the CoD-like arena games where the *only* objective is to kill the enemy. In BF2 this gets simplified/complicated by the BF2 scoring system. Pure k/d is replaced by the aggregate score so whatever results in the highest score per min will be desirable (currently that seems to be kills).

It's possible that by-large gamers have changed and most are stuck in that mentality where k/d or score is more important than any other objective. If so there's probably not much we can do to get our BF2 server back to a teamwork-focused style of gameplay. However, there's always subtle propaganda (publicly praise teamplayers in game chat, scripts that recognize teamplay and announce it to the team, etc) and placing an increased emphasis on the importance of a team win. Should individual soldiers still be able to display their trophy scalps after loosing the battle? Sure, it's impressive that they got X kills but ... their team lost. Maybe they should get X/2, X/4, or even X/X points for that lost battle (that's half points, quarter points, or 1 point). Reducing the points of the loosing side might inspire players to work together to capture objectives and win the game as BF2 seems to have intended.

...Duno. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with the NRNS servers the way they were modded before (I didn't play any of the recent mods so can't speak about them). I just think players have fundamentally shifted from wanting to win the BF2 battle to wanting to win the FPS battle. If we want them to shift back it's up to us to demonstrate that teamwork based gameplay is desirable.

Thats why I suggested a rework at the point reward system.

If weapons, like snipers are not gonna be touched because its  not the "NRNS way", at least the rewards should be changed.

Rewarding teamwork with more points, and K/D ratio with fewer points.


If that system gets a green light I have a recente footage of a K/D player,  or a camper as they find themselves at the middle of the score table with lots of kills but only a few points.

Okay.

After some testing my input is:

Weapons:
G3 = Damage Buff
F2000 = Small damage buff
AK101 = Damage Buff
G36C/M4 = Damage Buff
M16/G36E = Damage Buff, this needs special tweaking as those are burst weapons
AK47 = Damage Buff and a tiny bit more accuracy
MP5 = Damage buff
MK3A1 = Damage/Range Nerf
DAO-12 = Damage buff (small one).
MP7 = Damage Buff
Saiga 12K = Same as MK3A1.
NOR982/M11 = Range decreased, damage increased.
ERYX/SRAW = choppers need to go down in 1 hit. 2 hit on tanks is fine (might benefit from damage areas: reduced damage if hits the tank in front; damage bonus for hiting from behind);. APC one hit is fine.  Might be good to increase the travel speed of the rocket?
Sniper kit needs to have only one claymore, they are now using it to clean the flag capture area, and spawnpoints/flag areas are infested with clays.

Vehicles:

Tank/LAV-25/WZ551/BTR-90: speed buff, like before.
DPV/FAV/: Speed buff (20%).

Special attention needs:
L85 = NERF THIS (a lot)
P90 = SAME AS THE ABOVE

Disclaimer:
Can't specify the % on buffs and nerfs on each weapon because every case might be different, so they all need proper testing while reworking.

Needs a change , reward teamplay and rekt K/D players like they deserve.

Amno/heal giving = 2 points.
Flag capture: 7 points.

Demoliton points: 10  per asset.
(this are just estimated values)


Map balance:

Sharqui peninsula:
remove autoadmin safebase attack protection on the MEC flag with the helicopter.
Why? MEC likes to rape the TV station and destroy the USMC chopper before they can take off.
Make USMC have the chance to fight back in the same way.

...those weapons are the most played kits on the server and they are the favorite weapons too..
..if you change them then we should open vanilla city maps and close the server in 3 months...
ppl come here to play because of those weapons...

we need to increase damage and accuracy at other weapons so they could compete with L85 and P90 and than u will have a nice balanced server
and the pointing system should be changed as Fight-men said....

If we keep thinking like that, that we might lose players that like other weapons, we might was well put one shot on every weapon out there :/
We are just thinking/worrying about snipers,L85 and P90 users, afraid that they leave us.
What about the other people?
The ones that like G3? G36E? G36C? AK? And many other weapons?
They might leave us too.

IMO, we shouldn't balance the server thinking/worrying about people's favourite weapons.

Everyone has a weapon that they like most.
I love the L85,but I dont care if it gets nerfed so other weapons become viable.

Players will adapt if we change things.

We tried that. It was all shot down.

Why? :(

how many times the sniper is not been lowers so please stop going on about it. i will not change something nrns has ran for years. every time there is a post about bf2 weapons its always about the fing sniper and every time i tell you the exact same thing. i would of thought you all got the fact that the sniper is not changing.

maybe if i say il close the community before i change the sniper you all might finally get what im saying.

Forget the sniper its fine but can u upgrade every other gun like we asked?
