Hello everyone,
We will get right to the point: Electronic Arts Inc.' legal team has contacted us and nicely asked us to stop distributing and using their intellectual property. As diehard fans of the franchise, we will respect these stipulations.
Over the past 3 and a half years, Revive Network has filled a void in nearly 1 million players' hearts by bringing favorite titles back to life after online services were closed after the GameSpy shutdown. Only a few months ago, we took on the task of bringing multiplayer services online for a fan-favorite, Battlefield Heroes. The public reception for our efforts on this title were massive, and we never expected it to become as big as it was.
At this time, file downloads will be disabled.
This is probably the part where we have to say good bye. Before we leave the battlefield, we would like to thank all of the developers, artists, moderators, and last but not least every single player that helped make all of this a reality. Without you, it would not have become such a great time.

nrns servers will continue to run. maybe through bf2hub if that gos down to then we will run a private login server.

I will add the ip and ports to the server messages today, players will still be able to connect via join IP address ✌🏽

it was obvious that this is going to happen sooner or later....Bf2 is a property of EA and it is going to stay like that
..anyway Revive Network Community did a nice job and we all can say thanx for the effort ....
...but this bf2 revive thing was like: you planting your tomatoes in the neighbors garden and you hope that he will not notice it ???

haha, I like the analogy, but more like:
You plant your neighbors old discarded tomatos in your garden. Your neighbor didn't seem to care while they were growing, but now that they're producing again your neighbor demands that you rip up the plants and put them back in the trash...so wasteful. 🍅

The servers still show for me and I'm still using the revive launcher and account to get into the game. I'm hoping revive isn't fully shut down, only the downloads.
EDIT: While trying to find a stable non-revive BF2 install method I've found that NRNS servers don't show up (anymore) with BF2Hub. :-X

I have read orignal message EA not speak stop server but only prohibition for distribuition game (launcher) and use tags EA if not wrong revive have used tags for HEROES with advertising, I think for now server am save.

All what we need in my opinnion is nrns city maps and air maps server with active players base like it used to be many years ago

Ahh, great! So the server stays,. but I got Banned :))))
Come on - the game is barely still there, I've played for fun even when we were 1-1 and variants.
the only server where you get banned for big mouth,.. :(

That is just very very very sad thing. I don't like the newest bfs at all. The BF2 was and is still the best bf ever made. The same think in need for speed. New games are absolutely ridiculous time waste rubbish. same year as bf2 was made, 2005 was made NFS Most Wanted, and to my mind it was and is still the best nfs game ever made. 2005 was absolutely the best year on game developers. And now EA just throw this one of the best games ever made to the rubbish bin :'( :-X I have no words to say about it :/

Revive is shutting down but lets not forget that there are other options for BF2 launchers (namely BF2Hub). We're not giving up on BF2. BF2 will only truly die when its players stop playing it.

Maybe its necessary to add to the description to the server what players should play through BF2 Hub now?
But also with it there is a small problem. Through BF2 Hub in the general list of servers, the NRSNS server is not visible.
Recently on the BF2 servers there are not enough players. Can do it and is one of the reasons.

yeah that's true but there is also another thing. When I connect to NRNS servers from bf2 hub client, I have zero statistics. So I have revive account connected to NRNS. I think all those who have played with revive launcher their stats will be gone tomorrow :( Or is there any situation to save my revive account stats ?

It's our intention to make our servers visible on BF2Hub when revive goes down (there was a problem with making them visible on both revive and BF 2Hub). I'm not sure about stats but is it possible your stats issue is related to this topic: Stats on New Server are Broken (http://games.com/index.php?topic=11930.0)

...if u care about ranks and stats that much...why didn`t you played on the ranked(default)servers than?.. ???
..nrns have a private ranking system,like all the unranked servers..
..anyway ranks are the least thing that u need to worry about...the question is will BF2 stay alive after this? :-\

I will never buy any game from EA just because what they are doing is so wrong.
The co will go under because nobody wants to buy a game from a co that has no consideration for their customers,IE you and me.They have no heart.It is so wrong to just it take

EA is a 'too big to fail' prime example and is taking massive hate right now due to the monetary/pricing decisions for Battlefront 2. Record-breaking down-voting by something like 3.5k%. mmmm no think I remember when servers revive they were down for problems, server hub works normal. I hope what someone contact hub for know situation.

The servers need to be switched from the Revive style to the BF2Hub style so they'll show up in BF2Hub launchers. AFAIK server devs were just waiting on Revive to shut down before making the switch.

i made the switch but they still are not showing up in the master list so i have asked for support.

so the servers are online and fully working, i had to messaround with the stats alittle to get the ranks to show in game again.
Im still working with bf2hub to workout why our server isnt showing in the master list. they can not explain it just like i cant. as soon as thats sorted il let you know.
